Selective Outrage: The Role of Caste and Politics in India’s Rape Case Narratives 2024

"Selective Outrage: The Role of Caste and Politics in India's Rape Case Narratives"

How can I not say that the issue of every rape case in India is determined by caste and politics.
Nirbhaya’s mother has given a statement against Mamata Banerjee and she said “When the law is in her hands, then against whom is Mamata Banerjee holding a rally?”
So my question is that if Nirbhaya’s mother was honest on the rape case, then she would have been continuously giving statements on all the rape cases in other parts and different times in India. Especially the most discussed cases on social media like Hathras rape case and Kathua rape case and after that the most widespread harassment of women in Manipur, where the whole country was ashamed of the misdeed, humanity was ashamed. If Nirbhaya’s mother was silent on all this and if she is giving a statement only on the rape case in Kolkata, then why should it not be assumed that she is either associated with BJP or she is a woman with casteist mentality and she feels that if Dalit and tribal women and girls are raped then they are insects and not a topic of discussion.
